It's freewriting that lets me relax with my rough draft and just accept anything the characters do or any odd thing that comes up unexpectedly in a chapter.<br /><br />It kills that self-critical voice that would have you noodling over the first paragraph for a week and then forget what the book was about by week three as you finish the first scene.
